Steve has always operated on the working practice of minimum input/maximum output so is delighted to present Steve Power At Breakfast for only three and a half hours each weekday.
4 o’clock has never been a pretty time to get up but as Steve has a face for radio, it seems almost poetic justice that he rises at this ungodly hour.
His early radio experience came whilst studying French and Russian at the University of Sussex. He did not broadcast in either of these languages and indeed some listening even questioned his grasp of English!
His broadcasting career really started at BBC Radio Sussex before joining commercial rivals Southern Sound to present a daily show. As a Radio Presenter he has also worked for the now defunct Capital Radio Group, Virgin Radio, Talk Radio, the Chiltern Radio Group and at Wave 105 since March 1999.
In addition he has been part of a Sony Radio Gold Award team for the 1st National Music Day as well as presenting the Genesis Prince’s Trust concert for the commercial radio network.
Steve’s extensive media experience led him to set up his media training Company, Talk of the Devil in 1996 and is responsible for working on the development of various music artists including the Spice Girls, James Blunt, Katie Melua, Jamelia, Westlife and Corinne Bailey Rae.
His TV credits include a 10 part TV series for Discovery Home and Leisure called Trainspotting and a series of sell through videos of England footballers.
Steve lives in Selsey near the sea; in fact very near and getting nearer all the time. That’s coastal erosion for you! He drinks red wine and tries to eat healthily; or at least more healthy than he used to! He has a passion for football and longs to see Taunton Town and Selsey battling it out in the Premiership!!
