Wave 105 is expanding its coverage on digital radio across Dorset.
The station is now on DAB in Weymouth and Dorchester after a new transmitter at Bincombe Hill on the Ridgeway was switched on.
A new DAB transmitter has also been installed at Parkstone in Poole and existing transmitters at St Catherine’s Hill near Christchurch and Winterbourne Stickland near Blandford have been boosted.
Arqiva, who operate the transmitters, say the changes will increase digital radio coverage to over 80% of the population in the area, around 300,000 households.
A further digital transmitter will be switched on in Shaftesbury covering the northern part of Dorset before the end of the year.
Wave 105's managing director, Martin Ball, said: "Wave 105 epitomises what true local radio is about so we’re delighted to offer our listeners in the county of Dorset another platform to listen to us on.
"The Wave 105 team are incredibly excited about our future on digital radio and the opportunities that it offers us".
Wave 105 posted its biggest ever audience figures on Thursday.
Almost 600,000 people tune in every month according to data published by audience research body RAJAR.*
